The word “resilience” has crossed my mind many times in recent days. For me, it captures the spirit of our humanity and more specifically, our industry.
While COVID-19 has the world in a grip, I am confident that we will overcome this together as a country and as an industry. In this moment of uncertainty, let’s remember some of the good that remains. Broadcasting has endured decades of challenges and through it all, broadcasters have been there to inform and offer outstretched hands to the communities we serve. It’s why local radio and television hold the honorable title of “legacy media.” We’ve earned those stripes.
Like many, the NAB Leadership Foundation’s activities have been interrupted. The team is diligently working to reschedule, rework and revise our various programs and initiatives. Even during this uncommon time, we are committed to building a more diverse, innovative and vibrant future for the industry by investing in its greatest resource, YOU.
Over the next several days, weeks and months we will be sharing digital tools and resources with you. We’re committed to supporting your leadership development and are excited to announce a forthcoming new digital leadership series.
For new or hopeful managers who are interested in deeper learning, now is a good time to consider our First time Manager series.
Finally, as always, we are here to assist you with any resources or guidance you need. From leadership development to recruitment and retention initiatives, we are committed to serving you. It’s important to remember broadcasters have earned legacy media status because this industry has weathered so much, and we will get through this challenging time together – with pride and resilience.
