TAP Dates

Take your learning beyond the classroom and gain real-world skills that set you apart. This hybrid program offers hands-on insight into careers in broadcast engineering and technology, helping you explore opportunities, build your network, and connect with industry mentors.

Topics covered in this program include:

  • Broadcast Technology 101
  • NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0) and Radio
  • Networking and IT Fundamentals for Broadcasters
  • Leadership in Tech: Resume, Interviewing and Networking
  • AI Applications in Media
  • Cloud Practitioner Training, provided by sponsor AWS
  • Current Trends in Broadcast Technology and Engineering
  • Membership and Certified Broadcast Technologist (CBT) certification, provided by Society of Broadcast Engineers
  • Membership and Resources from IEEE Broadcast Technology Society (BTS)

Gain hands-on experience during a 2-month paid internship at a local television or radio station.

In addition to the internship requirement, the TAP program meets once a month online to cover various broadcasting topics. Program participants will travel to the NAB Show in Las Vegas to experience the largest trade show featuring content professionals from all corners of media, entertainment, and technology.
