Kate Doty is a fourth-generation media owner who, like her predecessors, is working her way up from the ground level. Joining Morgan Murphy Media (MMM) in late 2014, she began her career in media completely green. Armed with a degree in Business Administration and Finance from University of Wisconsin-Superior, she worked in mortgage lending for a local credit union before joining the family business. Kate has also previously worked with nonprofit organizations focused on family safety and financial counseling.
Kate entered MMM via the digital agency arm of the company, Phase 3 Digital Agency. As an account executive, she built relationships with local advertising clients who were stepping cautiously into the digital advertising waters, many for the first time. In her next role as a research strategist, she was able to learn more about the traditional media platforms of TV and print, along with gaining valuable management skills in leading the local sales support team.
The common thread amongst all of Kate’s professional positions has been her connection to working with people and developing relationships. For this reason, her recent promotion to the corporate team as director of Talent and Team Development is an excellent fit, and she is excited to grow her role with all of MMM’s market stations and help them advance their employee recruitment and learning development systems in the process.
