Washington, D.C. -- Following the success of the 2020 Celebration of Service to America Awards, which aired nationwide in August and September, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Leadership Foundation announced it will once again professionally produce the event for television and make it available for stations to air next summer.
In lieu of the live event traditionally held each June in Washington, D.C., the pre-recorded one-hour program features celebrity guests and members of Congress honoring local radio and television stations from across the country for their exceptional community service.
According to Nielsen, the 2020 program reached an audience of more than 7.5 million people. A total of 617 stations, representing 36 broadcast groups, aired the program in 210 markets, with participation from a least one station in each of the top 10 markets.
“Congratulations to all the award winners and thank you to our partners for making the 2020 Celebration of Service to America Awards a success,” said Michelle Duke, president of the NAB Leadership Foundation. “We appreciate the generous support of stations that aired the event and look forward to once again producing and distributing our legacy event next summer.”
