WASHINGTON, DC - The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) announced today the recipients of their Professional Fellowship program. Eight fellowship recipients were selected to attend the NAB Executive Development Program for Radio Broadcasters (EDP). Four fellowship recipients were chosen to attend the Management Development Seminar for Television Executives (MDS) to be held in July. The McCormick Tribune Foundation provides an additional four fellowships to the MDS program through the McCormick Fellowship program. Recipients were selected from a pool of qualified candidates of demonstrated ability who show promise for future advancement in radio and television.

"NABEF's fellowship programs provide aspiring broadcast executives with tools that will strengthen management and broaden the diversity of viewpoints in broadcasting," said NABEF President Marcellus Alexander. "Support from The McCormick Tribune Foundation and NAB has made it possible for participants to receive an MBA-style education at a fraction of the cost."
The NABEF Fellowship Program provides management training for women and people of color in radio and television. In particular, the program strives to promote diversity by increasing the pool of qualified broadcasters from minority groups.
The Executive Development Program and Management Development Seminar provides attendees with professional business skills that prepare them for the next steps in their careers. Both courses count toward a station's required number of outreach activities under EEO rules. The EDP will take place July 14-17, 2007 at Georgetown University.
